Objective
To provide a space where people can play music together, using the concept of a computer-assisted musical instrument [Expresseur www.expresseur.com]
For whom
Anyone who doesn’t have the ability [time, learning, experience, disability, ...] to master instrumental technical skills, but still wants to express their musicality, taking advantage of a computer-assisted musical instrument.
Musical genre
Any music that requires a sensitive musical contribution, in connection with other musicians, typically songs, so-called classical music, folk music, contemplative music, dance, etc. This excludes “automated” music (techno, ...).
How
The concept of a computer-assisted musical instrument allows the musician to get help solely for note pitch, drastically reducing the learning curve of instrumental technique, and making musical interpretation accessible more quickly. L'Expresseur is an innovative and proven software that I am developing. It fully embodies this concept of a computer-assisted musical instrument, allowing you to improvise or play a score. It is unique on the market. It is free (www.expresseur.com), standard (MIDI, musicXML, DMX…), adaptable with LUA scripting for new features, open source on GitHub, and works on Windows, Mac, Linux.
Where
A central place for the project: the church of La Ruchere ( Isère / France). Although it is possible (and even recommended) to use the Expresseur wherever needed, having a central location allows for basic workshops (see below), which can be reproduced elsewhere, of course, but with an identifiable and recognized central hub.
Various workshops are available to meet different expectations and needs. Examples are listed below.
